Comparing LifeFone’s Medical Alert Systems

When trying to decide which medical alert system to choose, it can sometimes be a little overwhelming. There are several providers to choose from and a host of review websites to comb through. While review sites give you some very good information, you also need to be aware that a medical alert system provider may be the #1 choice on one review site but #6 on another. One of the best ways to see how a company performs is by reading reviews on Google and other sources such as Trust Pilot. Our Reviews and Recognition page includes both.

How do you decide which system is right for you?

There are a few questions to ask to help get you started.

  • Do you want a system that works only while at-home or do you want a system that can go with you when you’re “on-the-go”? This will narrow down your choices immediately.
  • Are you worried about falling? Fall detection can be added to all of LifeFone’s systems.
  • What is the protocol if there is a medical emergency? LifeFone systems come with a personal emergency care profile whereby the subscriber can inform us of their doctors and other care facilities, their prescription medications and instruction on who to call in the event of an emergency. This can be updated at any time.
  • Are there any other charges such as equipment fees, cancellation fees, etc…? Some providers do charge fees for set up, activation, and equipment. LifeFone does not charge any of these.
  • What is the policy if I need to cancel? This is important as some companies have long term commitments.  With LifeFone, you can cancel at any time and get a refund of any unused prepaid charges once the equipment is returned.
